im not sayin it will work but it does with most things.

try wetting the patch then cover it with brown posting paper and iron over it. try this a few times, the water should soak in the dye then the paper should pick it up.

Blot the stain immediately with a clean cloth. Use soap and luke warm water. Blot stain with the soapy cloth working from the outside in. Alternatively buy some carpet stain remover from the shop.

HAir dye has a high pigmentation and will not wash out of any type of fabric no matter what you use on it.

Dependant on how big the stain is try cutting out a square of carpet where the stain is and replacing it with an unstained bit from underneath furniture and glue it in. Or if its small and has a big "shag pile" *lol* cut the stain out of the pile with scissors and then glue in more pile from an unstained bit. (I used to do this with cigarette burns when I had houseparties as a youngster!

This type of stain is one of the hardest to get out the carpet. I would recommend using a wet vac and slowly pour hot boiling water (from a kettle) on the spot and vacuum it up at the same time, (this will open up the dye ports on the carpet fibre releasing the stain. and remove the residue from the carpet).

If the stain is still visible than try putting Dawn dishwashing liquid (4 or 5 drops into one cup of water) or carpet spotter. Dampen the spot letting it soak on the stain for about 5 minutes and repeat step one. After this you should rinse the area again with the wet vac and hot water.
