I am thinking of making my hair dark auburn with light red chunks. How would that look?

This color would be great on someone who is lighter skinned...someone who was fair, and you have to remember that red is the fastest color to fade. This is because of the large color pigment. Make sure that if you are going to color your hair red, that you have a back up plan when it comes to keeping your red looking great and not faded. As for the light red chunks, i would do 2 larger foils in the front, gradually getting smaller all the way to the crown. It's going to look funky and cool, but easy to change if you get tired of it. Good luck with your red hair. It's one of my favorite colors to do!

I don't know about that. Auburn is like reddish brown so what is the point of the red chunks? You'll have to elaborate because when I think of red chunks in auburn hair I picture someone with auburn hair and red squares all over the place.

It really depends on your skintone, facial features/shape and style of hair as to whether or not it will look good on you.

But the color combo itself is not bad at all. No different than a dirty blonde getting bright blonde streaks, chunks or highlights.
