Flag Day is kind of a big deal around here. I live within sight of Fort McHenry, as well as the spot in Baltimore Harbor where Francis Scott Key watched the British bombardment of the fort through the night of Sept. 12, 1814. When morning came and he saw that the American flag still flew over the fort, he wrote a poem which, when later set to music, became our national anthem.
