Hair Dye Dilema Part Two?

Okay, So I bought Raven Black and Red hair dye from Hot Topic. The Brand is Raw.

So I know what I want ot do with it, i'm just clueless on "how" to do it. Okay, i'll explain. I want mainly black hair with red streaks or commenly known as "highlights" Problem is, I don't know how to do that. Do I take the parts that I want to dye red and wrap them in tinfoil then dye my hair black and rinse and then do the red? I am so CLUELESS...

ok I haven't done black and red but usually you dye everything the all over color (black) then you use a hightlighting cap or brush and put in the red.
