Hair dye help!!!?

What's the best, most gentle PERMANENT hair dye that I can buy over the counter at wal mart or sally's??? I just bleached my hair yesterday and it needs to be dyed over quickly. We tried dying over it with a purple additive, but it just came out grey. I want to cover it up with red. What's the best way I can do this using over the counter red hair dye? I don't want my hair to fall out. I can't stand having it look grey like this though, either obviously. Please help. It needs to be permanent, and something i can get at prefferabley wal mart, target, sally's, anything over the counter. I do not have money or access to salon products of any kind.

if you just bleached your hair-"Do Not go to wal-mart, if you are looking to deposit a fun funky bright color- you wont find it there!!" my hair was jet black for 3 years, and just this year i bleached huge sections of it out. i went to sally's and bought two boxes of "Loreal-hi color higlights in (magenta)They also have a great "red"(like fire engine red) color too, if that's what your'e looking for!i love mine its awesome, it's stays vibrant, and shiny." its specified for darker hair as well as lighter hair, and its a permanent, so it lasts longer that manic-panic,or beyond the zone, (those brands are all semi- or demi permanent colors, they dont last last that long at all) it is gentle-use a 30 vol. color developer with it-also as specified on the directions on the box. Plus the price of it is definitely worth it it's about $5.99-but if you have a sally discount card you'll save about 10%. it is a really great product to use if you are looking for bright fun colors that stay longer. make sure that you buy shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair as well to lock the color in longer-and since you bleached it before you want to put the color on, get a deep conditioning treatment as well. you dont want your hair to remain dried out, especially after the toll of bleaching your hair, and then depositing color on it! i highly recommend that! but check out the "Loreal hi-color highlights section at Sally's" its a great product! good luck!:) take care of your hair!

Oh hun, PLEASE don't dye it again. DO NOT dye over bleached hair. You need to get to a salon, stat. If you keep putting color over color (especially sinc eyour hair is bleached and damaged) on it your hair is going to be so damaged and will more than likely start to fall out, because you're going to end up with a chemical haircut. I repeat, DON'T dye over your bleached hair. Get to a salon and have them fix it.

I would suggest using herbal essences hair color. It is made with a gentle, ammonia free formula which helps to condition the hair and prevent damage.

I would also recommend using a deep conditioner which will help to moisturize and strengthen your hair.

Before you dye it, apply an ASH BASED blond first over the bleach! trust me on this bc it will cool and even out the brassy-orangy-grey tones for a better overall application. my best advice is to read the box carefully while you are in the drugstores. or you may search : ammonia free hair color. I believe Colorsilk is one of them. get a great conditoning cream at sally's. good luck and love your hair.

Misty said your hair will fall out, and thats not true as long as you dont bleach it again, but if you did, it would just feel dry, like straw. i know this bc i did something similar!

if you go to a salon, they will fix it just how you would : by dying it! or just go for a consultaion and then buy the hair dye. it costs about 40-50 bucks to get all over color application.
