On Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Why does Oz's hair change colours from brown to black to red?

It just really annoys me. I don't really like Oz that much but the thing that annoys me the most is the fact that his hair is hardly ever the same colour two episodes in a row.

It never specifically states why. The first time his hair color changed Willow stated "Your hairs brown" and he replied "Yeah Sometimes" but thats the furthest it was ever really discussed. My guess though would be that Seth Green (the actor who plays Oz) probaly had different movie and tv roles which caused him to die his hair.

maybe he likes to, to be different.

I believe that Mackenzie is correct. I have heard that the actor Seth Green dyed his hair for various movie roles that he did while he was also on Buffy.

It was kind of for two reasons.

1. Because he had other projects he was doing at the same time.

2. But also because Oz was supposed to be so cool, musician, alternative dude. That's why his nails are often painted too.

Cuz he dyed it. He dyed it black (with blue streaks) for Austin Powers.

  1. I like Oz. But it's weird that no-one seems to comment on his hair changing colour every episode?! TV drama series do that a lot tho'; it bugs me as in reality people always comment on other people's hair! I know Buffy' isn't documentary, but some of it is set in 'reality'..

  2. The first it changes Willos asks him about it. He only replies, it sometimes happens. And that's it. No one ever says anything about it again.
