I had my hair professionally done at a salon this past saturday... it didn't come put like I ex

I have naturally brown/red hair and wanted to go strawberry blonde. My hair was bleached then had red toner put on it. It has a ton of "yellow" parts now. IM NOT HAPPY!

I called the salon and she said she would add another red toner to tone down some of the blonde. Is that going to kill my hair? Should I wait a little longer before having more color added?

Everyone , including my picky husband says it looks great , but Im not convinced. Maybe just so drastic that Im not used to it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

When I first got my hair professionally colored in a slightly darker tone, they used toner to reduce the brassiness of my blonde. It really bothered me for a few days, but I grew to love it and realized it was just the difference that bothered me. In any event, I'd definitely give it a week before any recoloring, not only to think it over but also to give your hair some time to relax. Doing too much chemical work to your hair at once can be extremely damaging and can cause it to fall out.

I think you should wait or your hair will get thinner =x

Well I'd get it fixed right away. I've had an experience like this before as well and it was terrible. It was for my bf's grad and I got my hair done for it (one color on top layer and one on bottom) and she mixed the red and black kind of when putting it on n there were splots on the black! Needless to say I was not happy and even when I got my hair done she was like "Oops I accidentally got black on a few parts of the red but nobody will notice it's on the bottom color right?" I was soooo angry! And this was suppose to be a nice salon as well and the funny part is when I left the salon and had paid for it all she had the nerve to give me her card. Pushy or what?!?

I know it's frustrating!! Goodluck!

Yes, I definatly think you should wait longer no affence but or else you'll look weird! Kind of like... U know wat i means!

If everyone is telling you it looks great, maybe you're just not used to it yet.

But...having said that...if you really hate it then by all means go back and make them fix it. They were supposed to do it the way you asked for it to be done.

BTW you don't include a pic but from your description it sounds pretty awesome to me (just my opinion).

Good luck!

Yes, it will probably kill your hair. You know, it's just not fair! You can go in, tell them what you would like, and they never really get it. I have heard so many people tell me about their hair nightmare stories. Anyway, you should definitely wait a bit longer (at least two weeks) before getting your hair dyed again or else it will overwhelm your hair with chemicals. Good luck!

I had the same problem...naturally dark hair when stripped, pulls brassy yellow and orange tones. The only way my hair got rid of yellow was to double process (do it again). Your hair needs to be lightened more....to a platinum, then colored over. Or, you could try a shampoo or product designed to remove brassy tones....like matrix so silver shampoo...but it might take your red out faster.....definitely wait at least a week or so, and condition with a reconstructive conditioner like Joico's K-pac (those can both be found in professional salons and are highly recommended) But, in the end, you really need to trust your stylist...explain in great detail and hopefully she'll fix it to your liking...if not, you may need to find a new stylist ( I did...my old stylist kept re-doing my hair, bleaching, pulling through a cap, and putting me under the dryer while processing. All very bad ideas for over-processed hair...I finally had to go to someone else) Hope this helps! :)

my rule is give it a week. Some clients just need time to get used to the new look. Sometimes they do and sometimes they still hate it. So, if after a week, you still dont like the looks of it, go back and get it fixed. A stylist should not do anything to your hair if your hair is in too bad of shape to take it.
