My hair color is medium brown with red undertones. (My mom has red hair) I had red hair as a child but as I got older it turned into more of a brownish red color... ANYWAY... People have been telling me that my hair looks redder than usual. What would make it change colors again?

It's really hard to say, and it could just be genetics. Red hair is very complicated it can change either way and although it may seem weird to you it is normal. My daughter has red hair and in the winter it starts darkening to a brown, but as soon as the sun starts hitting it it lightnings up to a redder red and some times looks streaked, actually like I tell her you are the luckiest people because you can't get that exact color from a bottle and you can change colors without having to use chemicals.
